FOODCART SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS
Thank you for attending the Second Annual Conference on
Successful Foodcart Business Management held last August
29 to 31, 2006.

As promised, here is the additional material for product
forecasting...

SUGGESTED METHOD FOR FORECASTING

The following two-step method of forecasting is recommended
to determine purchasing for your foodcart supplies:

Step 1:  ABC Method

First, you need to classify your supplies into three categories:

A  = Food
B  = Non-Food
C  = Others

Step 2:  Buffer Method

Second, you need to determine your purchase level and
provide an allowance to your supplies.  You may use the
formula shown below:

Total Products Sold for 4 weeks
Divide by 4 weeks
------------------------------------------------------------
Average Weekly Consumption
Add:  30% Buffer (percentage may be adjusted)
------------------------------------------------------------
Required Weekly Supplies
Less:  Ending Inventory
------------------------------------------------------------
Weekly Product Forecast

The Weekly Product Forecast is more or less the amount of
products that you need to purchase for the week.
